My favorite time of year...

No matter what is going on in my life (good or bad), nothing is better than the holiday season.  I love lights so have them on trees in my neighborhood when I drive home a night is quite a plus.  Not to mention my office has about a dozen Christmas trees around it which adds a little excitement to the day.

The SEC Championship is at the Georgia Dome which is not new for this annual traditional but definitely new for me living in Atlanta.  I am having some girls over in the morning for breakfast and mimosas before we head off to tailgating.  I have to admit I am pretty excited about experiencing the "greatness that is the SEC" that I have heard more than I ever cared to since moving here.  I will always be a Sooner and a Big 12 girl, but will be a good change of pace.

iPhone and Edward

When people tell me they are going over to the "dark side" and getting an iPhone I have the same immediate response "it will change your life".  I started saying this jokingly until recently I took a minute to think about it, and it really has changed my life (weird, I know).  I seriously would be lost and weird without it.

• the map functionality- who needs a GPS anymore?  that thing can get you anywhere and you can search for anywhere you need to go
• emailing/ texting pictures- I feel so much closer to people when they can text me their view from the cowboy game instantly
• email- who knew that I could have 24 hour a day connection to my office and everyone at it.  Syncing everything from my phone to my work computer is perhaps the most genius idea ever. (and if you are one of those non-believers who think you can't open a word doc or ppt presentation you are wrong)
• apps- these deserve a huge shout out, but i think they get enough credit on the commercials "there's an app for that"
  

I no longer need anything with me, just the iPhone to get me where I need to go... I would be lost without it.

My new addiction: Twilight

Yes, I became a fan.  People at work were convincing me it was so awesome and I needed to read it.  From someone who doesn't read, I read a 500 page book in 3 days.... crazy!  Starting New Moon soon...

Perfect Day

October 24 was pretty much the perfect day for me. Not only was the weather absolutely beatiful (high 58), but I got to do what I have been wanting to do on a Saturday for 2 months, nothing...



Usually, my Saturdays are spent bopping around to various locations to watch football, which I absolutely love doing, but is also exhausting (and then Monday comes around and all I have to show for it is a huge pile of laundry and a lot less money). I decided against my normal routine and decided to have a "me" day and do laundry, run, read on my balcony and be lazy... it was awesome...

Although I decided against watching my usually amounts of football yesterday, I do still have my opinions about game day...

• TCU- My home town team (and my dad's alma mater). Go Frogs! Way to beat BYU (i despise them after they beat us in game 1 of this year, and took down Bradford)
• Alabama/ Tennessee- Seriously Bama, I thought you were better than that. Although, this game has resulted in my CEO having to dress up in a Tennessee jersey and singing their fight song next Friday because he bet with a 7 point spread...
• BOOMER SOONER! That's all I have to say about that...

Less than 2 weeks until Natalie and Jeff come to ATL!!! I am so excited I can barely contain myself.

Day 3 of Blog World...

If you know me at all, you know how much I love the #3. That's all I'm going to say about that.

A Case of the Mondays...

Is it just me or do Mondays come a lot sooner these days?  I blame the working world.  I guess college spoiled me with no Friday classes for the past 4 years so 3 day weekends were the norm.

The only thing that gets me through this horrible day is KICKBOXING! I have found a new love for my kickboxing class and the instructor that teaches it.  She only teaches it every Monday and I find myself actually excited to participate in a 60-minute sweat fest!

Halloween is also quickly approaching... Some people look fo

rward to this holiday, but I do not... but I need costume ideas!  I am going to a work party so I need to find a costume by this weekend...

Shout out to my KKG sister Halley! She has been such an amazing friend since I moved here and I am so lucky that she made the move from TX to ATL as well!  Boomer Sooner and Tuck Fexas!

Welcome to Atlanta

Hey guys! Decided I should jump on the bandwagon and see how this goes...

The past few months have been nuts (and flown by)! I graduated in May, went to Europe for 2 weeks and then moved to Atlanta for work on June 10! Atlanta has been a blast so far! I will share some of the highlights:

1) grits- living in the south sure does have its food perks.  I used to hate grits before I moved here and now I can't get enough of them!

2) Piedmont Park- absolutely beautiful park that has an amazing view of Midtown!  One of the best parts about the park is Park Tavern, which is an awesome outdoor restaurant/bar in the park with live music on Sunday nights!

3) Lake Lanier (above picture)-  Thankfully one of my friend's in ATL has a boat which has led to many fun Saturdays on the lake! 

4) Fried chicken and waffles- I live in Atlanta... Although I have never had this southern classic, I sure do appreciate seeing it on menus.

5)Trees- Atlanta is so green! There are trees everywhere, which make it a very pretty big city (coming from DFW, it's not too hard to be prettier)

6) Meeting new people-  I have realized in the past few months how much I enjoy this!  To think all the people I know that I didn't know before I moved here makes me feel so blessed!

7) Eastern Time Zone-  5pm comes sooner here! Although I wish that didn't mean I was 3 hours ahead of Natalie and Jeff in Cali.

8) my job- the whole reason I moved here, I should love it! Working for an agency is definitely crazy at times but it keeps me on my toes.

9) Battling SEC fans- wow are these football fans intense! Not only do I have to cheer on my SOONERS I have to defend the Big 12 (which is hard to do this year)

10) Stone Mountain- this crazy stone mountain (go figure) in the middle of nowhere (Sue swears it is a meteor and killed off the dinosaurs) that is so fun to hike/ run up! The view when you get to the top is breath-taking!

So, needless to say life is good!

Although my Sooners lost yesterday, this weekend was definitely a successful one! I swear every day I am here is a blessing and things just keep getting better and better!
